James Threlfall

James Threlfall is a British presenter hailing from just outside of Bath, working predominantly in radio for the BBC and as a host for football platform, 433.
Through his background of action sports, in 2017 after filming various commercials for the likes of Sky and Coca Cola James saw his TV break with the launch of a new series, ‘Now Boarding’. The show was commissioned by AMC Networks and saw James as the sole presenter, with episodes airing in over 50 countries globally.
Things rapidly accelerated from there, with James shortly after picking up jobs across multiple live sports broadcasts for Red Bull, a mental health film for BBC Three which went viral, MCing for NASS Festival and live event hosting for VICE, to name just a few.
James’ launch into radio however came through a lifelong passion for music which had seen him pick up specialist slots on Pyro and Soho Radio in London. From there, James began to pick up work at BBC Radio Wiltshire, before then being offered the role of presenting the regional BBC Introducing show in the West of England. James’ work with the BBC has since continued to grow, with live commentary for BBC Sport and podcast projects for BBC Sounds.
Alongside presenting, James is extremely passionate about mental health and young people, having been an ambassador for CALM since 2016, campaigning to build free-to-access public skateparks and supporting disadvantaged youths through the Prince’s Trust. As a result, in 2019 James was awarded an MBE by the Queen in her New Year’s Honours.
In 2021 James was announced as the newest host for 433, home to the biggest football community on Instagram with 50+ million followers.
