Sue Perkins

Sue Perkins is a widely known and much loved comedian, writer, actor and presenter. As one half of comedy duo Mel & Sue, Sue helped take The Great British Bake Off to be the hugely popular show it is today. Sue has also presented many other programmes covering everything from brass bands to art, and animals. Whilst still students, Mel & Sue took to the live circuit before writing for French & Saunders and then presenting both Light and Late Lunches on Channel 4. Sue has appeared on numerous panel shows on her own, on both television and radio from The News Quiz to QI, Just a Minute to Would I Lie To You. In partnership with food critic Giles Coren she’s explored unusual diets through the ages in The Supersizers Eat…, lived The Good Life, and considered the history of royal weddings. Sue discovered yet another talent when she won the BBC’s conducting competition, Maestro, when she went on to lead the orchestra at Proms in the Park. As a presenter Sue’s hosted BBC2’s Insert Name Here, Channel 4’s The Big Spell, and Sky’s post-Game of Throne show Thronecast. She’s also looked at art, Japan, the Ganges and holy sites around the world, The Sound of Music, and books, but has continued to return to food. As well as Channel 4’s The Big Food Fight, Sue has competed on MasterChef, grilled top chefs in Cooks’ Questions, and, of course, co-hosted the TV juggernaut that is The Great British Bake Off.
