Other high-profile accolades earned by Watson include the likes of Time Out Critic’s Choice Award in 2006, and a Barry Award nomination for best show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival 2006. He is known for performing unusual shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, such as absurd comedy marathons that last more than 24 hours – at the end of one such shows, Watson proposed to his girlfriend. Part of Britain’s inner circle of comedy, he has performed alongside big names like Tim Key and Daniel Kitson, John Dorney and Tim Minchin.
Watson has hosted his own TV shows such as Mark Watson Kicks Off, a sports panel show, and his own radio series on BBC Radio 4 entitled Mark Watson Makes the World Substantially Better. He is a regular guest on shows such as Mock The Week, Michael Macintyre’s Comedy Roadshow and has also appeared on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls.

The Bristol-born talent graduated from Cambridge with first class honours, and at university was a member of the prestigious Footlights, and also part of the revue which earned a nomination in the Best Newcomer category at the Perrier Comedy Awards at the 2001 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
